FBI Raids Suspected Chinese-Linked Biolab in Las Vegas Home [VIDEO]
In early February 2026, authorities including the FBI and Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department executed a search warrant on a residential home in northeast Las Vegas following a tip about possible unauthorized biological activity. SWAT teams, hazmat units, and a robot were deployed for safety, with air samples taken and over 1,000 items of evidence collected from a locked garage, including refrigerators filled with vials of unknown liquids, a centrifuge, other lab equipment, and potential hazardous biological materials. Officials emphasized no immediate threat to public safety, and samples were sent to FBI labs for testing.
The property is owned by an LLC linked to Jia Bei Zhu (also known as Jesse Zhu, Qiang He, or David He), a 62-year-old Chinese national already in federal custody since his 2023 arrest. Zhu faces charges related to an earlier unauthorized biolab discovered in Reedley, California, involving manufacturing and distributing misbranded medical devices (such as COVID-19, HIV, and pregnancy test kits) without permits, false statements to the FDA, and related fraud. That Reedley facility contained pathogen-labeled vials (including HIV, malaria, dengue fever, and tuberculosis in English and Mandarin), biohazardous waste, and genetically engineered mice, raising national security and biosafety alarms.During the Las Vegas raid, property manager Ori Solomon, 55 (an Israeli citizen), was arrested on charges including improper disposal or discharge of hazardous waste. Reports indicate some individuals exposed to materials at the site became seriously ill.

Zhu’s attorney has denied his involvement in the Las Vegas operation, stating Zhu has been in custody for years and is unaware of activities at the residence. Zhu’s trial on the California charges is scheduled for April 2026, with additional investigative steps including a follow-up search at his Reedley property.The incident has renewed concerns about unregulated biological operations with alleged Chinese ties operating on U.S. soil, echoing the 2023 Reedley scandal that prompted congressional scrutiny over potential intellectual property theft, biosecurity risks, and possible foreign influence.
