Bill Gates Regrets Every Minute With Jeffrey Epstein In TV Interview [VIDEO]

In a new TV Video interview, Bill Gates has repeatedly expressed deep regret over his association with Jeffrey Epstein, describing the meetings as a “huge mistake” and stating he was “foolish” to spend any time with him.

Bill Gates told 9News Australia on February 5, 2026 “I regret every minute I spent with him… Every minute I spent with him, I regret, and I apologize that I did that.”. After the Justice Department’s release of over three million pages of Epstein files few days before.

He emphasized that the relationship began in 2011 and lasted only a few years, consisting mainly of dinners where Epstein claimed he could help raise money from wealthy contacts for the Gates Foundation’s global health work — an effort Gates called “a dead end.”

Denials of Improper Conduct or Deeper Involvement
Gates has consistently denied any improper conduct or deeper involvement. He told 9News Australia that he “never went to the island” and “never met any women” connected to Epstein. Regarding the newly released 2013 draft emails (which were unsent and written by Epstein to himself), Gates dismissed the allegations — including claims that he contracted an STI from “Russian girls,” hid it from Melinda, or received help facilitating trysts — as “false.” He suggested Epstein wrote the email out of frustration because Gates refused to continue the relationship, saying, “Was he trying to attack me in some way?”

Official Statements from Gates’ Spokesperson
Gates’ spokesperson has strongly reinforced these denials, calling the claims in Epstein’s emails “absolutely absurd and completely false.” The spokesperson stated that the documents only demonstrate “Epstein’s frustration that he did not have an ongoing relationship with Gates and the lengths he would go to entrap and defame.” Gates has repeated in multiple interviews (including WSJ in 2021 and 2025) that his only goal was philanthropic networking and that he cut ties once he realized it would not benefit global health efforts.

Impact on Melinda French Gates and Ongoing Scrutiny
The renewed scrutiny has also drawn reactions from Melinda French Gates, who said in a recent NPR interview that the new Epstein documents brought back “painful times in my marriage” and “unbelievable sadness.” She stated that Bill and others named in the files “need to answer” the questions. Gates’ association with Epstein was previously cited as one contributing factor in their 2021 divorce. Gates maintains he has no involvement in Epstein’s criminal activities and has used the recent interviews to reaffirm his remorse while firmly rejecting all allegations of wrongdoing.
