In a heated House Judiciary Committee hearing on February 11, 2026, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), the Ranking Member, sharply attacked Attorney General Pam Bondi, accusing her of orchestrating a “massive Epstein cover-up” directly from the Department of Justice.
Raskin charged that under Bondi’s leadership, the DOJ had only released half of the six million required documents, photographs, and videos related to Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking case, despite congressional subpoenas and mandates.
He specifically criticized the department for improperly redacting the names of alleged abusers, enablers, accomplices, and co-conspiratorsโseemingly to shield them from embarrassmentโwhile shockingly failing to protect the identities of many victims, whose names, images, and personal details were exposed across thousands of pages in violation of explicit congressional orders to safeguard their privacy. Raskin argued this dual failure betrayed justice principles, prioritized protecting perpetrators over victims, and suggested incompetence or deliberate intimidation toward survivors considering coming forward, framing it as a profound betrayal that would define Bondi’s legacy unless corrected.
Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) Tells Pam Bondi
โYou’re running a massive Epstein coverup right out of the DOJ. You redacted the names of abusers, enablers, accomplices and coconspirators, apparently to spare them embarrassment and disgrace, which is the exact opposite of what the law ordered you to do. Even worse, you shockingly failed to redact many of the victims names, which is what you were ordered to do by congress. Some of the victims had come forward publicly, but many had not. Many had kept their torment private, even from family and friends. But you published their names, their identities, their images on thousands of pages for the world to see.โ
