As a recent Catholic convert, she stated that her faith prevents her from embracing Zionism, questioned if that made all Catholics antisemites, defended commentator Candace Owens against antisemitism accusations, and wore a Palestinian flag pin while pushing back on conflating criticism of Israel with hatred toward Jews.
Commission chair Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick announced her ouster, accusing her of hijacking the hearing for a personal and political agenda rather than focusing on religious liberty issues. Prejean Boller contested Patrick’s authority to remove her, insisting only President Trump—who appointed her—could do so, and described the move as overreach aligned with a “Zionist political framework.”
The decision drew praise from some conservative figures like Laura Loomer, criticism from others, and commendation from groups like CAIR for promoting interfaith solidarity and opposing Israel’s actions in Gaza.
She has since posted defiantly on X, affirming her commitment to her Catholic faith and refusing to “bend the knee” to foreign demands.
