The Netflix paranormal series is about a group of normal everyday Americans living in a small town in 1983, who witness extraordinary events. Season 4 goes into the year 1987.

The show starts with a boy, Will, riding home on his bike, and see’s a black humanoid figure, a biological humanoid, Will then falls off his bike, and runs home. The black humanoid follows him home and captures him.
Then a little bald girl in a hospital gown is introduced, named 011, (Nicknamed L/EL by the kids) from the 011 tattoo on her wrist, she escaped from a government scientific laboratory nearby. She runs to a nearby restaurant for food, and displays telekinesis, psychokinesis, abilities to stop a spinning fan with her mind.
The restaurant owner tries to protect and save her by ‘calling for help’, a deep state psyop agent shows up and shoots the restaurant owner.
MKUltra: The United States Military Secret Experiments in 1953
Project MKUltra was a covert, illegal human experimentation program run by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) from 1953 until it was officially halted in 1973. Launched amid Cold War paranoia—particularly fears that communist nations like the Soviet Union, China, and North Korea were using mind control techniques on American prisoners during the Korean War—the project aimed to develop drugs, procedures, and psychological methods to manipulate human behavior, extract confessions, and achieve “mind control” for interrogation, espionage, and potentially assassinations (including plots against figures like Fidel Castro).
Led by chemist Sidney Gottlieb, MKUltra encompassed over 149 subprojects involving the covert administration of high doses of psychoactive substances—most notoriously LSD—to unwitting subjects, along with electroshock therapy, hypnosis, sensory deprivation, isolation, and various forms of abuse and torture, often without informed consent and sometimes targeting vulnerable populations such as prisoners, mental patients, and even ordinary citizens in operations like dosing people in bars or through front organizations. The program’s existence remained largely hidden until exposed in the mid-1970s by the Church Committee and Rockefeller Commission investigations, after which most records were destroyed in 1973 on orders from CIA Director Richard Helms, leaving a legacy of ethical violations, human rights abuses, and enduring controversy over government overreach in the name of national security.
Stranger Things:
The girl see’s the owner get shot in the head by the undercover agent, and runs out the back, where 2 more agents are waiting to capture her with future sun plasma guns. Scared for her life, she uses telekinesis to throw knives into their skulls killing them. She escapes.
