Fire On U.S. Aircraft Carrier Raged for 30+ Hours Sailors Say (2026 Iran War For Israel)
The USS Gerald R. Ford, the U.S. Navy’s most advanced and expensive aircraft carrier, experienced a significant non-combat fire in its main laundry area last week, starting in a dryer vent. Another fake news story said it was a ‘kitchen fire’. Keep reading for the truth.

Two sailors suffered non-life-threatening injuries, with dozens more treated for smoke inhalation, and laundry services remain disrupted. Despite the incident, the Navy’s Central Command stated that the ship’s propulsion and overall operations were unaffected, though the carrier is now heading to a U.S. Navy base in Crete, Greece, for repairs expected to take at least a week.
The fire highlights the mounting strain on the Ford and its approximately 4,500 sailors and pilots, who are nearing a record-breaking deployment approaching 10 months—far exceeding typical lengths—as the ship has been diverted multiple times under President Trump’s administration. It was first redirected from the Mediterranean to the Caribbean in October 2025 to support pressure on Venezuela’s Nicolás Maduro, then rushed to the Middle East in February 2026 for the ongoing U.S.-Israeli war against Iran, now in its third week. The extended operations, combined with prior issues like persistent plumbing problems, have fatigued both the crew and the vessel, prompting preparations for the USS George H.W. Bush to relieve it, as experts note that prolonged high-intensity deployments degrade performance.
