On March 4, 2026, during a Senate Armed Services Subcommittee hearing on U.S. military policy, Brian McGinnis—a Marine Corps veteran, Raleigh firefighter, and Green Party candidate for U.S. Senate in North Carolina—stood up in his military uniform and loudly protested American involvement in the escalating conflict with Iran, shouting phrases such as “No one wants to fight for Israel” and “America does not want to send its sons and daughters to war for Israel.” As Capitol Police officers moved to remove him from the room, McGinnis resisted by grabbing onto a doorway; his arm or hand became trapped in the door hinge amid the struggle, and a audible crack was heard as a bone in his forearm shattered.
Video footage captured the chaotic scene, with bystanders yelling that his arm was stuck while officers—including assistance from Sen. Tim Sheehy (R-Montana)—continued to pull him away. McGinnis was treated for the broken arm, later underwent surgery, and showed his bandaged and post-operative arm in follow-up videos and posts, while facing charges of assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, and unlawful demonstration. He has since stated that the injury has only strengthened his resolve to continue his anti-war campaign.

BOOMER MAGA Inc. Raises Record $305 Million for Midterms
President Donald Trump’s primary super PAC, MAGA Inc., has amassed an unprecedented war chest heading into the 2026 midterms, entering the year with approximately $300–304 million in cash on hand after raising over $102 million in the second half of 2025 alone. Much of the funding has come from megadonors, including large contributions such as $25 million from OpenAI co-founder Greg Brockman, $20 million from Crypto.com-related interests, and dozens of other seven- and eight-figure checks. Since the 2024 election, the PAC has raised a record-breaking total of around $305 million. When combined with other Trump-aligned groups and the Republican National Committee, the broader pro-Trump political operation has stockpiled nearly $400 million, giving his allies significant financial firepower to influence the 2026 midterm races.
