President Trump threatens suit against Trevor Noah for defamatory Epstein jab at Grammys.

Trump’s Outrage Over Grammy Awards

President Donald Trump criticized the Grammy Awards as “virtually unwatchable” and accused host Trevor Noah of making a “defamatory” joke about Jeffrey Epstein.

The event, hosted by Noah on Sunday, featured liberal musicians criticizing Trump’s immigration policies. Noah quipped that Trump wanted to buy Greenland as a new spot to “hang out with Bill Clinton” since Epstein’s private island was no longer available, implying a connection to the disgraced financier.

Trump’s Denial and Threat of Lawsuit

In a Truth Social post, Trump denied ever visiting Epstein’s island, stating he had never been accused of it until Noah’s comment. He called Noah a “total loser” and threatened to sue him, CBS, and others involved, referencing past legal victories. Trump emphasized that the statement was false and defamatory, and he looked forward to pursuing legal action.

Release of Epstein Records and DOJ Statement

Following the passage of the Epstein Files Transparency Act, signed by Trump, the Justice Department released over 3 million records, including Epstein’s emails. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche confirmed to Fox News that none of the documents suggested Trump engaged in criminal or inappropriate conduct, even in Epstein’s disparaging communications about him.

Broader Context of Trump’s Lawsuits

Trump’s threat against Noah aligns with his ongoing legal battles, including suits against the BBC, The Des Moines Register, pollster Ann Selzer, the IRS, and the Treasury Department. Recent settlements include a $16 million payout from ABC News after a false claim by George Stephanopoulos, and a multimillion-dollar deal with Paramount over a “60 Minutes” interview. The Grammys are set to move to Disney networks in 2027 after decades on CBS.
