Did you ever buy #supplements on Amazon? Or at your local store? Then you need to see this. Amazon has had a big problem dealing with this one big problem on their website and they cant seem to get it under control. Will throwing money at the problem fix it? Amazon has had a big problem dealing with counterfeit products on the website lately.
Amazon has established a Counterfeit Crimes Unit (CCU) to tackle the issue of counterfeit products sold on its platform. This unit collaborates with brands, law enforcement, and customers worldwide to identify, investigate, and remove counterfeit items.
Fake supplements can be filled with wheat, or wheat and other low quality fillers that contain toxins. Toxins can severely impact the human body by disrupting normal physiological functions at various levels. When ingested, inhaled, or absorbed through the skin, these harmful substances can interfere with cellular processes, leading to damage or death of cells.
According to Amazon’s efforts they identified, seized, and disposed of over 6 million counterfeit products, preventing these from reaching consumers or re-entering the supply chain. The CCU also pursued over 1,300 criminals in various countries, including the U.S., UK, EU, and China, through civil lawsuits or criminal referrals. Additionally, Amazon has invested heavily in technology and personnel, with over $1.2 billion spent and more than 15,000 people dedicated to combating fraud, including counterfeiting, in the same year. These actions show Amazon’s commitment to reducing the prevalence of counterfeit goods on its platform.
Some toxins can bind to enzymes, rendering them ineffective and disrupting metabolic pathways. Others might directly attack organs; for instance, toxins like lead can accumulate in the brain, causing neurological damage, or in the kidneys, leading to renal failure. Chronic exposure to toxins can result in long-term health issues such as cancer, liver damage, or respiratory diseases. The body’s immune system might also react to toxins, leading to inflammation or autoimmune responses, further compromising health. Detoxification mechanisms like the liver and kidneys work to eliminate these substances, but when overwhelmed, they can fail, exacerbating the toxic effects throughout the body.
