US Airstrikes Destroy Iran Air Passenger Jet at Bushehr
Americans fund more bombs on Iran, for Israel.
On March 3, 2026, amid joint US-Israeli airstrikes on Iranian targets, a parked Iran Air Airbus A319-111 (registration EP-IEP, a 24-year-old narrowbody previously operated by Air China and Rossiya Airlines) was destroyed on the ground at Bushehr Airport in southern Iran.
The civilian passenger jet, which had flown from Tehran as flight IR407 days earlier and was stored on the apron, sustained catastrophic damage from the strikes, with Iranian state media and aviation tracking sources reporting heavy smoke, scattered debris, and the aircraft rendered a total loss while no passengers or crew were aboard at the time. This incident, also affecting Tehran’s Mehrabad Airport, has been highlighted in images and reports as a stark example of civilian aviation infrastructure caught in the escalating military conflict, prompting condemnation from Tehran and scrutiny from global observers over the targeting of non-combat assets.
