Remember when Mike Cuban said Donald Trump Hated women and the mainstream media ran with it?
President-elect Donald Trump has appointed Susie Wiles, his senior campaign adviser, as White House Chief of Staff, making her the first woman to hold this role. Known for her pivotal role as Trump’s unofficial campaign manager, Wiles is widely credited for professionalizing his campaign and helping secure a historic victory. Trump praised Wiles, saying, “Susie Wiles just helped me achieve one of the greatest political victories in American history, and was an integral part of both my 2016 and 2020 campaigns.” He described her as “tough, smart, and universally respected.”
Wiles, a veteran in Florida politics, led Trump’s successful 2016 and 2020 campaigns in the state. She previously worked with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis on his 2018 campaign before a brief fallout that saw her dismissed from Trump’s team, only to be rehired soon after. Although she has limited recent experience in Washington, Wiles worked in Ronald Reagan’s Labor Department, in the White House as a scheduler, and on Capitol Hill for the late Rep. Jack Kemp (R-N.Y.).
As Chief of Staff, Wiles will oversee White House policy and daily operations, bridging connections between executive agencies and Congress. Trump’s previous term saw a high turnover of Chiefs of Staff, including Reince Priebus, Gen. John Kelly, Mick Mulvaney, and Mark Meadows. Unlike most positions, the Chief of Staff role does not require Senate confirmation.
