Types of Holograms

There are two different types of holograms. Holograms are often divided into “soft light” and “hard light” modes:

Soft Light Holograms

Soft light holograms are the ones you know, and have seen before.

Soft light holograms are projected photons of light, appearing fully three-dimensional and visible but intangible—they pass through solid objects, cannot touch or interact physically with the real world, and are essentially ghostly projections.
