The Epstein Files Transparency Act was passed by Congress in November 2025 following bipartisan pressure for full disclosure after the Department of Justice announced in July 2025 that no further charges would be pursued in the Jeffrey Epstein case and declined to release more information. President Donald Trump signed the bill into law on November 19, 2025, requiring the DOJ to publicly release all unclassified Epstein-related records within 30 days. Due to the enormous volume of materials and the need to redact sensitive victim information, the DOJ missed the December 19 deadline and instead conducted rolling releases, starting with a small batch in December, followed by over 11,000 files (nearly 30,000 pages) on December 23, 2025, and the largest drop of more than 3 million pages, 180,000 images, and 2,000 videos on January 30, 2026.

Transparency

Of the DOJ’s total 6 million pages of Epstein-related materials—described as an overwhelming “two Eiffel Towers” worth—nearly half (about 3 million files) were withheld to protect child sexual abuse material and unredacted victim details, prompting ongoing criticism from victims’ advocates and lawmakers over incomplete transparency.
