In one future timeline, Skynet tricks and turns good guy John Connor (Sarah’s son) into a super-advanced robot called the T-3000 made of tiny machines (like living metal nanobots).

This evil John goes back in time to 2014 to help finish building Genisys. When Genisys finally turns on in 2017, it wakes up as the real Skynet and takes over the whole world by spreading through the internet and every connected device—no big nuclear bombs needed. It just controls everything digitally and starts the robot war. Sarah Connor (who’s tough and ready to fight), an old but upgraded good Terminator robot called “Pops,” and Kyle Reese team up to break into the big launch building in San Francisco and stop Genisys before it can go online and take over everything.
