Mass Shooter Kill’s 10 People in Canada’s Gun Free Zone

A tragic mass shooting unfolded on Tuesday in the remote mountain town of Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia, Canada, where a gunman killed nine people and injured at least 25 others in attacks at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School and a nearby residence.

Six victims were found dead inside the school, with a seventh dying en route to the hospital, while two more bodies were discovered at the connected home; the incident marks one of Canada’s deadliest school shootings in decades.

The suspected shooter, described by authorities as a woman, or a man, who Transitioned to a woman, a trans, was found dead at the school from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The small community of about 2,400 residents remains in deep mourning, with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney expressing devastation over the loss of life, as investigations continue into the motive behind this rare and shocking act of violence in a country known for strict gun control measures.
