The USS Gerald R. Ford, the U.S. Navy’s most advanced and expensive aircraft carrier at roughly $13 billion, has been plagued by persistent plumbing clogs in its vacuum-based sewage system, which features narrow pipes designed to suck waste through the massive vessel for its crew of over 4,600 sailors.
