The rumors intensified after the U.S. Army Chief of Staff, General Randy George, was suddenly forced to resign immediately. The U.S. military said he retired, but it was reportedly forced.
Most reports say that the U.S. government’s Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, fired General Randy George. It was reportedly done by phone call, and no reason was given.
U.S. Secretary of War Hegseth has also sacked two other senior generals, U.S. media reported.
General David Hodgson, head of the U.S. Army Transformation and Training Command, and Major General William Green Jr., head of the U.S. Army Chaplain Corps, have been dismissed.
The news was reported by The Washington Post and military news outlets.
Twenty-four U.S. military generals have been sacked since Pete Hegseth took over as war secretary.
News of the sudden dismissal of the U.S. military’s chief of staff and two other generals comes amid concerns across the United States about war president Donald Trump’s continued politicization of the U.S. military.
The U.S. military is facing a major shock after U.S. troops bombed an Iranian civilian bridge on Trump’s orders, reportedly killing several people.
On the other hand, while the U.S. president and the war secretary claim that Iran’s army, air, and naval forces have been destroyed and its ability to attack eliminated, Iran continues to launch unrelenting attacks on Israel and U.S. military bases in the region.
Although kept secret by the Pentagon, reports are emerging that Iranian attacks have killed hundreds of American soldiers, wounded thousands, and caused serious damage to aircraft, ships, and weapons.
Trump was reportedly deeply disappointed that the U.S. military failed to use the “world’s most powerful” force to capture even the Strait of Hormuz from Iran, which some say shows the world that the U.S. military is powerless.
According to some insider sources, the chief of staff of the U.S. military was removed because he was reluctant to proceed, citing concerns about the risks, costs, and casualties of a ground invasion of Iran.
Other sources say General Randy and the two senior generals were suddenly sacked because they were expected to oppose alleged U.S. war crimes against Iran within the two-week deadline given by Trump.
Chief of Staff General Randy George has been removed and replaced by General Christopher Lanev. He was Hegseth’s military advisor and close aide. He is expected to comply fully with Hegseth’s directives regarding Iran, regardless of the orders given.
